Graduating Classes Design their Own Dress!
If your school requires a white dress for graduation,
Kathlin Argiro can save students time, money and
frustration, while delivering a semi-custom gown and
lessons in fashion design – at or below department
store prices!

Kathlin Argiro, a New York City designer who has
dressed Katie Couric and Stacy London, and whose
dresses have been carried in the finest stores
including Nieman Marcus and Bloomingdales,
graduated from Georgetown Visitation High School in
Washington D.C.
Kathlin’s designs are modest, figure-flattering, and
gentle on the pocketbook.  With the options of changing
accessories and skirt length, the dresses can be worn
for more than just one occasion, such as college
sorority initiation events or formals.

Kathlin Argiro Studios is a woman-owned business, and
all dresses are manufactured in New York City, right
down the street from the design studio.

Visitation Class of 2002
Like many all-girls’ schools, Visitation has a tradition of the graduating class wearing long white gowns
for their graduation ceremony. When Kathlin graduated from high school, she couldn’t find a white dress
to suit her chic sensibilities, so she designed her own!
Now, she brings her Special White Dress Collection to
Visitation and other schools each year.

At Visitation, where each girl wears the same dress for
graduation, Kathlin designs a custom Class White
Dress each year.  She meets with student
representatives who describe the likes, dislikes,
interests and influences of their classmates.  Kathlin
creates sketches of potential designs, including fabric
choices and trim like sashes, belts or flowers.  Then,
the students vote to decide which of the three designs
will be their Graduation Dress.

Kathlin also works with schools whose students do not have to wear the same dress, simply a white
dress. Girls meet with Kathlin, trying on samples and choose their style, fabric and trim.  Each dress is
unique, so no girl wears the same dress.
